On the 16th of August from 9 AM – 2 PM we are going to have our Sixth Annual Craft Show, which kicks off our big end of Summer Raffle Basket fundraiser, and before either of those we also have an event this Thursday at Texas Roadhouse.
Shannon and I recently had a conversation about how we like our steak.
Shannon: I know that I like to have my steak cooked medium well, but how do you like your steak?
Sean: Guess.
Shannon: Medium rare?
Sean: Well done!
Shannon: Ummm…
So when we go to Texas Roadhouse this Thursday after work we can safely order each others food.
I remember the last time I was there I had a waiter ask me, ‘How did you find your steak?’
I simply replied, “I just looked next to my potatoes, and there it was!”
When you stop at Texas Roadhouse this Thursday between 3 PM and 10 PM, be sure to either bring a copy of the flyer with you or show them the picture of the flyer on your phone. Shannon and I will be stopping in after work ourselves that evening.
This Saturday is our Sixth Annual Craft Show, and if you want you can still grab a table in exchange for a $25 donation. Of course, organizing this craft show reminds me of the time I had the really unusual opportunity to organize Dwayne Johnson’s craft room. Unfortunately, I lost his scrapbook cutting tool. That’s right, I lost the Rock’s paper scissors. Hopefully I will still be able to find my scissors when this craft show is done.
At our craft show we’ll be grilling wonderful food, and kicking off our raffle basket. I’ve always enjoyed raffles ever since my Dad won a raffle when I was a kid. He won a baguette. Yep, my Dad was the bread winner.
There are going to be a lot of great raffles, including one with tickets for the Steelers vs Dolphins game.
The tickets will be priced as follow:
1 ticket for $1
7 tickets for $5
16 tickets for $10
40 tickets for $20
The raffles will be drawn on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st at 4 PM.
I should talk about some of the other things we have coming up in the not too distant future:

We can help with cell phone, tablet, and computer problems/questions. - Saturday, August 16th, 7PM – 8:30PM, Bereans Group ~ This group, which is open to the public, we always discuss tough theological questions and rarely come to consensus. This time we are discussing whether or not the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed are still pertinent.

- Wednesday, August 20th, 5PM – 7PM, Bill and Ted: Face the Music ~ Ever since this film this film was released during the pandemic Art and I have been trying to convince Shannon that we should show this film on a movie night. In fact, Art and I can often be heard shouting, ‘We are Wild Stallions’ followed by us making fake guitar noises. Somewhere along the way we finally broke Shannon.
- Thursday, September 4th, 5:15 PM, Book Club ~ The first Thursday of every month our book club gets together and discusses a different book. This time we’ll be discussing All the Light We Cannot See, by Anthony Doerr.
- Saturday, September 6th, 11AM – Noon, LEGO Contest ~ We will be having a dinosaur themed LEGO competition for kids ranging in age from pre-K through 6th grade. There is no entry fee and we have some really cool prizes fro various age categories.
Now for the part everyone always asks about, the actual food! Our soup is our very popular white chicken chili and our sandwich is a pizza panini! Our specialty ice creams are Black Cherry and Caramel Cookie Twist and soon will be releasing a cookie butter milkshake using cookie butter we made ourselves.
Thanks and God bless,
Sean
