So I recently met a dragon while camping.

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

We ended up having a fireside chat. After awhile I had to admit to him that the one thing more amazing than a talking dragon is a spelling bee. He gave me a smouldering look, but eventually he cooled off. He told me that he was so hungry this morning but had to wait to eat because of a dental appointment. I asked him what he ate afterwards and he told me, “the Dentist.”

I responded, “I thought dragons usually ate knights.”

“I used to, but I got tired of canned food, besides you don’t see many knights anymore. I did recently eat a bus full of people. I considered it meals on wheels.”

We eventually got on to talking about his treasure. Apparently he mostly collects gold and precious gems. “Don’t you keep any silver?”

“Not anymore.”, was his response.

“Without any silver, doesn’t that make you just a dr/__/on? (Sorry, that chemistry joke had been renting space in my head).

All of this is to mention that according to the Chinese calendar, which started February 10th, this is the year of the dragon. If you enjoy dragons or want to give dragons to others that you know that enjoy them we make various dragons all the time on our 3d printer.

February is also chocolate month, so you should stop in and get some of highly addictive chocolate peanut butter bark, or chocolated covered Oreos, or even some chocolate covered Oreo truffles.

Now to talk about what all we have coming up in the not too distant future:

  • Friday, February 16th, 6:30ish – 9PM, Board Game Night ~ This has long been a tradition to come in on a Friday and have fun playing games.
  • Saturday, February 17th, 1PM – 3PM, Tech Help ~ We are a handful of tech heads that like technology and would like to help you with your stuff. We can help with cell phone, tablet, and computer problems/questions. We can talk with you about the latest tech like streaming TV, home security, cyber security, etc. This is all done for free, you just need to come in and ask for help.
  • Saturday, February 17th, 7PM – 8:30PM, Bereans Group ~ This group, which is open to the public, we always discuss tough theological questions. This Saturday we are discussing whether there are different levels of Heaven.
  • Tuesday, February 20th, 7PM – 8:30PM, Bible Study ~ We just started discussing First and Second Corinthians. Feel free to come and join us for this study.
  • Wednesday, February 21st, 5PM – 7PM, The Marvels ~ Carol Danvers (aka, Captain Marvel) powers’ become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, and Carol’s estranged niece Captain Monica Rambeau. Together they have to fight the Kree and try to protect the Skrull and each other. I know that I appreciate the inclusion of the Beastie Boys in the movie soundtrack.

  • Friday, February 23rd, 5ish – 9PM, Extra Long Board Game Night ~ This has long been a tradition to come in on a Friday and have fun playing games, and this particular Friday provides opportunity for those interested to come in early and play longer board games. I will be play testing an expansions I’ve been working on for Xia.
  • Saturday, March 2nd, 11AM – Noon, Lego Contest ~ Elementary age kids can compete for free for the opportunity to win prizes. Fun will be had by all.

Ever since we started selling games last year, we’ve been promoting a different game in every newsletter. This time I decided to highlight a board game expansion that I’ve been playing for many years, Ticket to Ride India!

This expansion also includes the map and cards for Switzerland, which is one of my favorite boards. This expansion does require that you already have either the US board or the Europe board.

Now for the part everyone always asks about, the actual food! Our sandwich is a pizza panini. Our soup is delicious peirogi soup. Our specialty ice creams are Brown Butter Bourbon Truffle and Black Cherry.

Thanks and God bless
Sean
